Jim Morrison, a man who sang, wrote and drank hard as lead singer of the Doors, has died—peacefully—at the age of 27. Morrison’s death, despite (and because of) strategic efforts on the part of his wife Pamela and friends, was shrouded in mystery.

Jim Morrison, 25, Lead Singer With Doors Rock Group, Dies

LOS ANGELES, July, 8 (UPI) — Jim Morrison, the 25‐year‐old lead singer of “The Doors” rock group, died last Saturday, in Paris, his public relations firm said today. His death was attributed to natural causes, but details were withheld pending the return of Mr. Morrison's agent from France.
