Paolo Baron and Ernesto Carbonetti are getting the band back together, as the duo behind “Paul is Dead” are reuniting for “Jim Lives: The Mystery of the Lead Singer of The Doors and the 27 Club.” The original graphic novel builds off of the popular conspiracy theory that Jim Morrison of The Doors never died, and has actually been living a secret life away from prying eyes.

1971 wasn’t a banner year for Doors frontman Jim Morrison. Months after being convicted of indecent exposure for dropping his pants at a show in Miami, the once-svelte 27-year-old Lizard King moved to Paris, recorded widely loathed poetry and died in a bathtub.

Was Jim Morrison murdered? The short answer is surely no, despite Marianne Faithfull’s rather belated and strangely throwaway remark to Mojo magazine that she knows “who killed” him in Paris in 1971.

A new book claims to reveal the truth about the death of Jim Morrison, the singer of the rock group The Doors, after decades of rumours.

The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger recalled how rumors that Jim Morrison didn't die in 1971 caused arguments among the rest of the band.

The singer died in Paris at age 27, but rumors still persist that he had staged a fake death in order to escape the pressures of his life. While the story is generally dismissed, Krieger said he and keyboardist Ray Manzarek held opposing views.
