New Doors-inspired Street Signs Unveiled, Creating Honorary Crossroads for Iconic L.A. Band

ENCINO - More than five decades after members of the iconic Los Angeles band The Doors first jammed together, City Councilman Paul Koretz and drummer John Densmore unveiled an honorary “crossroads” Thursday in tribute to two of the rockers.

At the intersection of Morrison Street and Densmore Avenue, new street signs were unveiled during a morning ceremony. Although the streets were not originally named after the musicians, the new signs were installed on a single pole to honor the band.

"This is cool,” Densmore said in front of a crowd of reporters and fans. “I drove all the roads in this town, and this makes me feel very good.”
