Birthday (1943)

Wow, it’s hard to fathom Jim Morrison at 70 years of age. There are some people that come in to this world who are not meant to be here for long periods of time and Jim Morrison was one of them. He was an old soul and knew this at a young age when most children are still playing games.

Whatever Jim did he gave it 100 percent of himself. He never compromised who he was for anyone, despite the enormous pressure on him once he became famous. He was a true free spirit, who lived his life the way that he wanted to.

John Densmore and Robby Krieger will share a stage next month for the first time in 13 years.

The surviving members of The Doors will appear at the Los Angeles County Museum Of Art on December 5 to mark what would have been late vocalist Jim Morrison’s 70th birthday three days later. The event will also commemorate keyboardist Ray Manzarek, who died in May.

Densmore and Krieger will watch Morrison biopic Mr Mojo Risin’: The Story Of LA Woman before giving a talk about their memories and experiences of being in The Doors.
